Context
In addition to being coffee addicts and advocates, we share many similarities with the people in the specialty coffee industry: a passion for craft, attention to detail, and a drive to make the best version of a product. When the annual event dedicated to specialty coffee was announced, we knew we had to get involved. We signed on to create the visual identity and branding for the event.
Solution
We came up with an easily recognizable character that people in the slow coffee industry could relate to: a sloth. From there, we developed a timeless branding, incorporating vibrant and sweet colors that evoke both progress and enlightenment. Keeping in mind the emphasis on slow, of course. During the event, we also held a workshop on branding to inspire people and help them realize the importance of developing an entire universe from a brand.
